Luki and Sven first met in 1994 and soon began playing cover songs. The bandroom they used belonged to Sven's first band "Sudden Impact". Our first "liv show" we played "welcome to paradise" (Green Day) in a church. It was for Sven's confirmation. A year later we played "leona" (Millencolin) at Luki's confirmation. In 1995 we took part in a contest for schoolbands called Band-It, we played a few cover songs and came last.

Undaunted by this and determined to take our band more seriously, we had to get a bass player. At the time Luki was still in school and Sven was working in a music shop where he met Louise who worked in a different branch of the same shop. As she was into punk music and played the guitar, Sven asked her if she'd like to join our band as a bass player. She agreed, so on the 9th of may 1996 the three of us rehearsed together for the first time.

Neither Luki or Louise had played in band before. We played our first concert on the 28th of september 1996 in Zurich. We didn't have a bandname and had to think of one that afternoon. Louise suggested sinch, Luki misunderstood and thought she'd said snitch.

By the end of 1998 we'd played about 15 concerts, rehearsed a lot and had written new songs. We decided to record an EP. We'd recorded one song (Pet cemetery) at the Hardstudios with Bebi and Brüll.

As we had no idea where to record the rest and didn't have the money, we turned to Popkredit Zurich who really helped us out by financing a few days recording at the Dynamo Studios, where we recorded our Almighty EP with Urs Hirscher and Stephen Küenzli in october 1998.

Once we had the CD we had no idea what to do with it. Luckily, Luca, a friend of ours, was in close contact to Leech Records and helped us get our CD released on Leech in march 1999. With a label it got easier to get gigs and in 1999 we played about 20 concerts.

After we'd recorded Almighty, Beni, a friend of ours, joined the band. In 1999 Snitch played in Germany for the first time.

We planned to record our first full length CD by the end of the year, so we started writing new songs. During that time we recorded a tape called "Let's put some punk on tape" in our bandroom. In october 1999 we recorded "100% Fireproof" with Martin Eisele at his studio. It was released on Leech Records in March 2000 and partly financed by Popkredit ZH. After the release we toured Germany with the Peacocks and Potshot and Canada with Subb, we also played in the Czeck rep. and Italy. In november 2000 we recorded the 7" "Hoist the sails" at Martins studio. This was released by Stan, formerly of Leech, on his label Sprinter Records. We played about 40 concerts in 2000 and another 45 in 2001. Around June 2001 we decided to cut back on gigs and instead write and rehearse new songs. Shortly after touring Canada and Switzerland, Beni split from the band and Snitch carried on as a trio. Thanks to Potshot we were lucky enough to get a compilation of Almighty, 100% Fireproof and Hoist the sails released in Japan on TV Freak Records (Potshot singers label). We didn't play any concerts for four months and rehearsed as much as we could for our new CD. We recorded the preproduction at the Hardstudios and Martins studio.

In March 2002 we went to Örebro in Sweden to record 15 songs for our 2nd CD at Soundlab Studios with Mieszko Talarczyk.
